Inheritance Tax

Inheritance Tax (IHT) is the last tax we are likely to pay and is levied at 40%. People who do not think they are wealthy could be surprised. By owning property and being in a good pension scheme, your total assets can easily exceed the present Inheritance Tax threshold of £275,000. IHT can be wholly or partly avoided in most cases with forward planning. By not considering this seriously and taking appropriate action, you could be leaving money unnecessarily to the Inland Revenue.

For professional advice on Inheritance Tax matters and other financial services, including mortgages we recommend you speak with an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).

"Broadly speaking this is voluntary tax for those who distrust their heirs more than they dislike The Inland Revenue"

(Roy Jenkins, Chancellor of The Exchequer 1976)
